hi there my 11 yr old male neutered cat eats normally but has become less than half his weight

You really do need to take him to see a vet as soon as you can.

there are several possible reasons for this weight loss. Such as feline heart conditions, feline diabetes and cat thyroid conditions.

My own cat lost lots of weight but was eating more than normal, it turned out to be a thyroid condition which she needed treatment for. It is important to get weight loss checked out as soon as you can before the cat becomes weak. there is also more chance of the treatments being more affective if tarted early.
