2 year old spayed female cat over eating

my cat eats a lot more then my 4 year old neutered male cat. she has a very bloated stomach all the time. when you look at her head on her stomach sticks out on both sides. when i touch it its very hard. I leave the food out because my male cat regulates his intake but she obviously cannot. i dont know what to do. Is this harmful for her?

Hi yes this is not good for her and could cause her health problems.

now it very much depends on why she is eating so much. Some cats will just eat and eat and eat if food is available and for these cats it is important to only feed them at meal times and not let them eat in between.

however there are some health conditions which can make cats feel hungry all the time and these can only be diagnosed by a vet. Thyroid conditions can do this. https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-thyroid.html

So i would recommend that you have her checked by a vet first to rule out any underlining illness before changing her eating routine.

best wishes Kate
