7 month old kitten breaths hard if you listen closely.

My 7th month old kitten breaths heavily if you listen to her. She is a female and I believe she is a rag doll or Balinese. She loves the outdoors and runs like crazy with her sister. Her mother is perfectly fine, father is unknown, and so is her sister form the same litter. She is about 10 pounds, is this normal? I want to figure out what I can do to help her stop breathing heavy.

Hi
well it is difficult to say whether or not she does have a problem or not. I too have two kittens and if you listen to them especially when they are sleeping their breathing seems louder than my previous cat, but it could just be a slight winter cold.

You have two options really, either take her to the vet to get a proper diagnosis. if there is a problem then you will have caught it early and can treat it properly. if nothing is wrong then at least you have peace of mind and can stop worrying.
the second option is just to keep an eye on her and see if her behavior changes or whether the symptoms disappear. As long as she is still eating, drinking and playing etc as normal then as I say it may just be a slight cold.

if you are really worried then taking her to the vets is your best option.

best wishes Kate
