Adopted by cat

A stray cat just adopted me. I got flea drops and applied them to her back (although I don't expect fleas) The cat is good at grooming herself. She is between a kitten and a young cat. I notice a dark brown (discharge, color) under the corners of her nose, when she doesn't have it cleaned off. Dark brown in the corners of her eyes and inside the eye socket. I notice it in her ears. I can treat her for ear mites but it is the dark brown around the inside eye socket that I don't know how to treat. Any idea what it is and how I can clean/ treat it. She doesn't weaze and seems fine. Trying to keep from now having a huge vet bill.

Hi
It may be that she is getting over a cold still and this is the left over discharge. Clean it away with cotton wool in warm water. Leave it for a few days to see if it returns or not.

if it does return she may have conjunctivitis or similar eye infection, there are drops you can buy for these. Please see my web page about eye issues here

Although it sounds that like she is in fairly good condition for a stray, are you sure she does not belong to someone locally? Someone may be looking for her.

Best wishes Kate
