aggressive cat

i have a cat which is nasty when its stroked it becomes wild and attacks you,he is only 6 months old ,i have cats before but none ofthem have been like this,what can i do

I wonder what his background is? It sounds like he wasn't brought up in a family environement when he was very young, this sounds more like a feral cat or a cat that had little or no human contact early on.

I'm afraid the only answer is lots of TLC and games which don't involve attcaking hands etc and a little discioline as described on my page here http://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-discipline.html which does not involve any physical punishment at all. you have to think like a cat and behave accordinly.
My sister had a feral cat who eventually setttled down but I must say he never really beacme what i would call a pet. You may just find that you have a cat there that is happy to be around people but not to interact with them much. Lets hope that over time he softens a little.
