Alfie My Cat

30th june 2014

Alfie my boy I know it may be
that you rest and sleep in tranquility
Or so I've been told by people I love
who try to see things from above
This dark space I'm in with no light to see
but the light in your eyes that shone so for me
I can't see it now I'm wishing I could
but know that it must be understood
That light once so bright had started to fade
Please forgive me for any mistakes that I made
I loved you and love you
And hold you so dear
Just once more to treasure your cat presence near.

We will miss you forever. Love Fiz and Shaun.

A lovely poem for such a sad occasion. I know hen my cat died I wrote her a letter and placed it under her grave stone. I just needed to be able to speak to her one more time.

I guess it sounds silly to some but it really did help me. I'm guessing that you penned this poem for a similar reason.

I hope your pain eases soon and that the memories of your cat help you to grieve your loss and help you to love again.
