Brand new kittens

My mommy cat just gave birth to two kittens under my love seat! I moved them into a box and tilted box so she could get in with them. Plan was to move them all to a bedroom so they would be safe from curious older small dog and male cat. She immediately grabbed one and dove back under loveseat. I put the other back under with her. They are fine, but I would really like to move them all. What to do?

Hi
Unfortunately it is not really up to us where the kittens should be in the first few days of their life. Your queen chose under the love seat because she felt safe there and knew her kittens would be too and she will return them there until she feels differently.

It could well be that she herself decides to move them if the dogs become a worry for her.

Let her have a few days with the kittens to herself before trying to get too involved, she will be much happier once she has settled down with them and got used to her new mummy position. Then you may be able to move them.

best wishes Kate
