Cat biting kitten

by Josh

I've recently got a male kitten, Axl, my older male, Ted, has been living in the house for 7 years, they get along pretty well and all but I've noticed that Ted bites Axl on the back of the neck and doesent let go until Axl escapes. I've separated them before and Ted starts talking. Is this a normal parent-type thing? Note: Axl is not the offspring off ted

Hi
this sounds like normal cat play fighting to me. Also it is likely that the male cat is teaching the kitten how to hunt etc this is what a normal cat parent would do too.

Unless your cat is growling and hissing while he is doing this and drawing blood i think it is safe to say this is just fun and games and should be allowed.

best wishes Kate
