cat cries & falls

I have an 11 year old cat... Recently she has been taking faster breaths than usual.. And a couple of times within the past month and a half to 2 months.. she would sometimes cry and then drop to the floor as though she cant move.. What could possibly cause this?

Hi
I an wondering whether she has developed some form of fitting. This would account for the sudden drop to the floor and the crying.

Your cat definitely needs to see a vet as soon as you can. If it is fits then medication can be prescribed to help stop these. The vet will also be able to determine if their are other health factors involved too. perhaps a respiratory infection is present too. But they can only be diagnosed via tests which the vet will carry out.

This must be very distressing for both you and the poor cat. i do hope the vet can help sort this out for you soon.

best wishes kate
