cat eye discharge

by LYNN DEITER

I just got a 4 month old kitten from the shelter last week. Yesterday his eyes looked very glassy, and today he has discharge from both eyes. After his nap his one eye was pasted shut and I had to use a warm wash cloth to open it. Do I need to take him to the vet?

Answer by Kate
the answer is yes. kittens are very susceptible to infections and their immune system may not be working at its best. Your kitten may have cat flu or an eye infection which will need antibiotics from the vet.

best wishes Kate
