cat has blood in stool and missed tray

my cat (Mr.Kitty) has just missed his box..its the first time he has ever done this.. when cleaning it up i seen his stool had blood in it..he seems healthy enough.. as im typing this he is doing his everynight freak out to burn some of his energy lol.. however iam worried about this i checked online found out (it could be worms or just a one time deal thing) however i thought i would post this to make sure (also he just had a can of salmon for a treat.. he doesnt get human food alot so if that could be cause it would be of great help to know whats wrong

Well it is difficult to say for sure what has caused this as all the things you mentioned could be the cause.

your bets bet is to only give him cat food for the next couple of weeks, no tid bits etc this will give his system time to settle down in case the change in food has upset him a little.

make sure he is wormed.

And lastly keep an eye if possible on his behavior and his stools. If there are any further signs of blood or if he keeps missing his littler tray which may be a sign of distress then your best option would to take him to the vets for a check up.
