cat has change of personality

I have a 4 year old cat, who was recently spayed a year prior. We recently moved into a home with two extra indoor dogs, and rescued a kitten. At first she got used to the kitten, hates the two dogs. She has started growling, crying, and hiss at me when i or my fiance walk in the room. Today, she acted like i was trying to kill her, she growled, hissed, and then pooped and peed where she was crouched down. WHy has she gone manic? I have always owned cats, and never seen this before. Please help.

This cat sounds like she is very insecure and afraid in her new environement. her reaction to you is fear not of you but of how she is feeling generally. Like wise the peeing and pooping is also a sign of fear.

My advice would be to place her in one room for a week with her bed, toys, litter and water. feed her outside of this room with the dogs not around.

Vist her regulalry and play with her in this room. It will help to calm her down and help regain some confidence in a smaller area. During this week you may want to introduce one dog at a time to her in a controlled way. I have a page about this process, it helps to build confidence in the animals. here is the page https://www.our-happy-cat.com/introducing-cats.html process is the same with dogs.

Your cat needs time and and some quiet time and slow steps I think as they do sound rather distressed with the situation.

I hope things get better soon
best wishes Kate
