Cat has unusual Stretching of the back legs

We have two cats who are constantly stretching their back legs in an odd way. I've had lots of other cats before and I've never seen this. It's not just after they've been sleeping, but all the time. Any ideas? Thanks WS in MV

Unfortunately without seeing the behavior it is difficult to say what could be causing it. It is strange that both cats do it, so perhaps it just a learned behavior.

As long as they are both well in other ways i would not worry too much but the next time you visit the vets mention it to them.

The only other possibility that i can think of is that it may be arthritis but that would be odd for both cats to have it at the same time.

Check that the food you are giving them has everything that they need for optimal health, sometimes the cat food may not have enough natural oils in it to keep the cats supple. there are supplements that you can give them i think which can help with this.
