cat howling

Hello,

My precious cat after 6 years is now howling at a toy mouse and then she brings it to us. She has never done this before. We did get a kitten 6 months ago, and they just love each other and also look very similar would that have anything to do with her new hunting experience.

this is difficult to answer as there are many reasons that your cat is displaying this behavior. However it does sound to me just like normal hunting behavior, does your cat go outside? if not it could just be that they are alittle bored and are amusing themselves with hunting games. Or it could be that the cat feels slightly threatened by the presence of another cat and is trying to assert himself through doing catty things to make himself feel better.
It is not a behavior to worry about, in fact it is good that your cat is showing his normal instinct to hunt, this normaly means that they are fairly happy as a depressed cat will stop most activities. :)
