Cat in heat

My cat is a little over a year old and is already showing signs of being in heat. How long is too long to wait before getting her spayed and neutered?

Answer by Kate
cats mature sexually after 4 months old so she has probably been through several seasons already. normally a vet will spay between 4 and six months.
Best to ring the vet and ask their advice as to when it is best to bring her in. i don't think it matters if they are in heat or not but each vet will have their own preference on this.
