Cat is freaking out!!!

by Summer

Our beautiful normal sweet cat was fine until we found a small baby stray kitten and we let it stay in our home over night until we could find something to do with it. Now she won't go near her sister without hissing and trying to scratch her and she is peeing in the floor instead of the litter box. She is acting crazy and we don't know why. The stray is now gone and she is still freaking out. We don't know what to do. The other cat we own is acting normal. They are the same age. Thank you for any help we can get on this.

Hi
this is a not uncommon problem. The best way to deal with it is to go through a period of reintroduction for your cat. Confining them to one room and then introducing that to their sister again using a cat carrier.

the process can seem a little time consuming but it really does benefit both cats and helps them to get back to their relationship before.

The process is described here

don't worry with a little time and persistence your cat should be able to relax again with her feline friend.

best wishes kate
