cat just took a shower

hi,

my kitten(10 weeks)just took a shower in the sink and my mom used shampoo. after that she started licking herself clean. after she was totally dry, she started throwing up. the vomit was her cat food. could this be because she licked the shampoo and swallowed it?

well yes it could have been that she ingested some of the shampoo but it could also be through fear. If she didn't like it that much it may have caused her to be sick.

It isn't really advisable to use normal shampoo on a cat as it can dry out their skin and get rid of the important oils which helps keep their fur in good condition.

Cats don't like baths or showers and don't really need them unless they get particularly dirty. I have a web page about how to give a cat a bath which will not cause too much upset. here is the page
