(portland, me)

My cat is about 5 years old, and is getting very thin, he eats a ton of food, and also begs and gets haha alot of human food. He doesnt throw any of his food up, but is getting thinner and thinner... i know a long time ago my father gave him raw hamberg for a while, so i was thinking tape worm? dont really have any money at all to take him to the vet, although ill do it if i cant figure out what it is... any advice would be awesome, thank you!

Hi, well unfortunately the symptoms you describe could be caused by several things, i.e worms, diabetes or a thyroid problem to name just a few possibilities.

Unfortunately only a vet will be able to diagnose the real cause of your cats illness as some tests may need to be carried out.

I don't know if there are any animal charities in your area that are able to help out with vet costs, I know there are some here in the UK. It may be worth checking out if you are worried about the money side.

Hope your cat is better soon

best wishes Kate
