cat lost his voice

My cat lost it's voice and recently stopped meowing. Is he sick?

Answer by Kate
Hi well yes it is possible that he has a throat infection just like us humans get from time to time which may have stopped him meowing. Also as some cats get older their voice gets a little less robust.

However I would always recommend to anyone who notices any changes in behaviour or physical changes to have them checked by a vet if they go on for more than a few days. it is always better to be safe than sorry and a cat can't tell us if they are feeling ill or not, all we can go on are the little signs and changes.

So if the loss of voice goes on for more than a few days then it may be advisable to have them checked by a vet.

Hope he is Ok
best wishes Kate
