Cat Nightmares?

by Joseph

I have had my cat for about 4 years now and occasionally she will suddenly wake up from a nap and start crying loudly and frantically. It doesn't matter where she is or who is around her, it is as if she wakes up and is disoriented and terrified. I try to comfort her as much as possible when this happens and it usually doesn't last more than a few seconds but it does worry me. Should I look into this further or just brush it off as kitty nightmares?

Hi I wouldn't worry too much about this. i have had several cats who do the same thing. i think they either wake up with a bit of a start or were dreaming about something which wakes them up suddenly and they have a second of not knowing where they are.

No I would just put it down to normal dreaming.

best wishes Kate
