cat not acting himself

My cat has been acting strange the past few days. He is very cautious around everything and has to sniff things and acts like something is going to attack him at any moment. He also peed on my bed last night and hasnt done that since he was a kitten. He just isn't his self. What could be wrong with him? I haven't changed his diet. The only thing i can think of is that i changed the type of litter in his litter box. Whats wrong with him?

cats can be affected by any small changes to their world. This could be something like a different person visiting the home. Anew piece of furniture being borght or even moved. A new cat outside which they can smell or have seen. There are so many things that could have caused your cat to stress out.
The urinating is a sign that something has definately upset them as it is used to help make the cat feel secure in the home again as it makes the house smell like them.
You will have to be patient with your cat while they calm down again and feel happier. Try distracting your cat with games and a lot of extra fuss and comfort.
Don't worry i'm sure he will return to himself soon.
