cat not eating and sleeping all the time

by Roslyn
(Paddington)

i am looking after a desexed female cat. she is eighteen months old and she has hardly eaten in the last three days. Also, since Sunday night (it is now Thursday) she has spent most of the time sleeping. Up until about four days ago she seemed to be ok. she was running and jumping around my unit, eating well, and lots of fun. now she is very lethargic when she is awake, and seems to be having trouble moving on her back legs. I think she should be going to the vet and I have advised her owner. please help Roslyn

Hi
normally i would say that she may just have a cold or virus which has knocked her off her feet for a few days. even possibly a hairball. But because you say she is weak on her back legs as well and after four days too i agree with you, i would certainly be taking her to a vet to be on the safe side. hopefully it is something simple to deal with.

best wishes Kate

Be Safe Not Sorry

I used to work for a Vet. You should take her to see the doc. Too long without much food or water can cause dehydration. Be on the safe side and take your furry baby for a check up. Good Luck. Hope she/he gets to feeling better soon.
