Cat not eating, and sleeps all day long.

My cat is only 1, she is generally a playful, cuddly, hungry cat. She always used her litter.

Until a week ago she has been peeing in the living room, there hasn't been any business in her litter as well.
She isn't eating or drinking, she sleeps in the same spot all day.
This is very unusual for her.
What is wrong, what can I do?
I know as my responsibility as a pet owner to take care of her. But I am going through a tough time finacially and I cannot afford to go to a vet.
Is there a over the counter drug that I could give her? Could she have the flu? Help please!

Hi
unfortunately without a proper diagnosis there is no way to treat her correctly and you could waste money trying.

Her symptoms are very general and could indicate all sorts of different problems from cat constipation, to a virus to any number of digestive issues etc. It really is impossible to say.

i fully understand what you are saying about hard times financially, many of us are in the same boat but sometimes there are just some things that cannot be avoided and the care of your cat as you know is one of them. I recently had to pay out at the vets as my cat was attacked by a feral cat and I found it hard to pay. Speak to your vets to see if they have any payment options available.

best wishes KAte
