How I found my cat - Her mother left her in the garage

It’s funny that you say that her mother left her in the garage because I have known other female cats to do this with their kittens too. I truly believe that cats have a great sense of knowing when a human will be a good carer and so bring their off spring to them to be looked after.

My next door neighbour had this happen to her. A cat would come into her garden day after day and they slowly got to know her. they thought she was a stray and was prepared to take her in. then one day she disappeared for 48 hours and we all thought she was gone. Then she turned up again with a little kitten in her mouth. Both kitten and mother stayed with my neighbour for about a week and then all of a sudden the mother cat was gone and never came back.

The kitten was about 2 months old and so was practically weaned. You never know the mother cat may have had other kittens too which she was frantically trying to look after and find homes for too. It really was a very touching experience to realise that this mother cat knew that her kittens needed help and she took the time to find people she felt would look after them. Needless to say, kitten lived with my neighbour for the rest of his life.
