Cat Nap Heaven
Guy was gray and
soft...
He was so mellow,
he melted into
the misty fog that
brought him home
sleeping at night,
blending into the
rug in a gentle
snuggly ball...
He was a puff
of cotton fluff,
posing and stretching,
curving stances that
made him twinkle like
rays shimmering on
the clouds...
handsome...harmonious...
and he took his perfection
v-e-r-y seriously....

This is the story of VooDooBoo,
the smartest cat i ever knew,
he understands twelve languages,
cooks and cans mouse sausages.
He claims to know who lives on mars,
and works part time on racing cars,
he says he reads the daily news,
it's how he professes political views,
he boasted once of being olympic,
but mentioned not the sport specific,
if i believed eveything he said,
i believe his age to be a hundred!

I’m a cat…
And that’s where it’s At!
If you wanted a turd
You should have
Got’ yourself a bird;
If needed was an alarm
For the dark? Should have
Rescued an annoying bark—
But in regards to no deference
(a feline’s definite preference):
I’m an independent,
Self-serving—don’t
Need anybody (yet if
It makes you feel better,
You can pet me)—though
I got to be free!
Then be grateful
For little tabby—
And no more pouting
Over my nightly outing…

I have a friend with big green eyes,
Who knows when I'm happy or sad,
She's always there by my side,
And for that I'm so very glad.
When I'm upset she seems to know,
Just how to make me smile,
She is the smartest cat that I've ever seen,
And she does it with so much style.
I'm so very grateful for my cat,
And that is sure no lie,
She is the best friend anyone can have,
The one with the big green eyes.

Faster than a buzzing fly! More powerful than a scurrying mouse! Able to leap tall furniture at a single bound! It's Super Simba.
“Look! There on the ground!” “It's a tiger!” “It's a leopard!” “It's Super Simba!”
Yes, it's Super Simba the nocturnal Feline from the planet Maine Coon of the Clan of the Long Tails, who came to this household with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men to live among the Clan of the No Tails.
Super Simba who through lighting speed can catch a fly with his furry paws, stretch and bend in ways that defy imagination, and who, disguised as Simba Boy, mild-manner condo cat, lives among his people as champion of cat naps, and title-holder of cat toys.
He sleeps by day and protects his clan by night. Ever vigilant while the No Tails sleep, Super Simba stalks the night and fights a never-ending battle for solitude, independence, and the Maine Coon way!

Lucy came to me in '91,
She left the other day;
After 20 years, she had to go,
She had done her best to stay;
Her insistent yowl, she daily used,
But nightly, by my head,
Little Lucy sweetly snoozed;
From the tip of her nose, to the end
of her tail,
the girl was midnight black;
With the purest love, she was always there,
Oh, How, I want her Back!
So, I write this poem for Lucy,
So you all may know her name;
She etched herself across my heart,
which will never be the same.
