Cat scratching ear

Hi, We just recently got a cat and she is really healthy. But from her eyes back to her ears she is losing hair. It is getting very thin in a stripe. She just scatched it like crazy and then shook her head real hard. Furr went flying and drops of liquid landed all around where she was laying. Is this something for me to be worried about? Thanks!!!!

Well this is certainly something you will need to sort out for your cat as she must be in some discomfort with the scratching.

As to what is causing it, well it could be a number of things, it could be a parasite or a skin allergy. You really do need to get your cat to the vets to have the area looked at so that a proper diagnosis can be made.

I have a web page about fur loss which you may find or interest here

best wishes Kate
