cat sneezing after encounter with mouse

by Charlene

My cat is around 5 years old now, she is healthy and gets her shots on schedule every year.

Apparently without me knowing, there was a mouse running around our apartment and the cat had been chasing it around. I caught it and let it outside. Now she seems to be scratching herself a lot and sneezing every 5 minutes, I assume she may have picked up a flea or something from the little mouse, but that should not be what is causing her to sneeze. Any ideas?

Answer from Kate
It may be that your cat is having an allergic reaction to a flea bite. See this page on my site for more information on this

My cat was allergic to flea bites and she had to have a antihistamine injection to stop her twitching from the itching.
