Cat Thyroid

Hi There


I have found a cat i would love to rescue. But she has a thyroid problem.

Please can you get back to me with as much information as possible about this problem?

My own cat has recently undergone an operation to remove one of her thyroids, she lost a lot of weight and was very lethargic but now a month after the op she is back to her usual self. She has put the wight back on, she is eating normally now and is full of energy. it really isn't a death sentence for the cat and depending on the type of thyroid problem can be treated either with pills or an operation. Quick word to the wise if an operation is required, ask the vet for a quote on how much it will cost. It seems to vary a lot depending on the vet and if you are insured or not.
