cat urinating out side of litter box

I have a 8yr old calico persian female cat. She started pooping on the carpet a few feet from her litter box and just started peeing on the carpet in a corner also just feet from the box. I've added Dr. Elsey's Precious cat Ultra attractant to the box but it's not working. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a common problem which can have many many causes. It could be a urinary problem or a stress issue ie something has upset your cat and so they feel as if they have to re scent their home to make themselves feel secure again.
