cat useig neigbors garden as loo

my 6 month old cat is middening outside on the neighbours lawn. what can I do?

I got him from a cat sanctuary when he was l0 weeks old. He is very affectionate, slight habit of play biting, but quite gentle. I think he may be part Bengal as he shows some of the traits, eg. loves water, is always in the bath, or sink, very lively and does the 'water clearing ' thing with his paw. He has been very good with his litter tray, but since he started to go outside, he decided it would be good to poo on the lawn. I realised he must be scent marking, but now I find he has done loads on the neighbours lawn.

can you advise please?

ummm what can i say, yes you're right he is scent marking, this is natural.

i sometimes wake up to find foxes poo on my lawn, i just get on with picking it up and think nothing more of it. its nature.

if your neighbor has a problem with this well its their problem and they could try and buy the cat crystals which is supposed to deter cats, although i'm not sure this always works.

my own two cats sometimes sometimes use my neighbors garden, they don't mind, its all part of nature.

if you are worried you could apologize to your neighbors but there is nothing you can do to stop it. hopefully after awhile your cat will stop going there once he is happier and more settled outside.

best wishes kate
