Cat walks funny

Hi I have a cat who is now about 2, that walks funny and has since birth. His front legs function normal, but his hind legs squat when he walks, runs, whatever. It doesn't seem t affect him he's a very happy boy. Could this just be a hip displacement or something?

Hi
I take it you have never taken him to the vets about this or any other matter during his 2 years?

If it were me i would have had him checked out straight away in case it was causing the cat some discomfort (cats are very good at covering up pain etc).

It may be a birth defect which as you say does not cause him any difficulties etc but he may have dislocated it and it may be able to be put right.

It is certainly not normal for a cat to squat at the rear all the time etc.

best wishes Kate

Yeah we bought him from another couple when he was about 8 months old. They told us that they had taken him to the vet and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Thank you for the advice and we'll get him checked out asap
