cat with painful shoulder

I have a siamese cat that has a bad shoulder, it looks to be dislocated but he walks on it to good, it is swollen and you cannot touch it without him crying in pain and trying to tear your hand off. what could be wrong if its not a dislocated shoulder. it is causing his whole right leg to swell

I can't really answer this as i am not a vet and to be honest i don't think anyone could answer it without first seeing the cat.

Having said that your description of the symptoms definately sounds like either a fracture or severe bruising. In either case the cat needs to see a vet urgently before any infection can set in. Your cat may also need some pain relief.

I hope the vet can sort out the pain and injury quickly and without too much trouble.

best wishes Kate
