Cat wobbly on his back legs

My 12 year old male persian cat who has suffered from Uninary Tract problems in the past, but has been fine until today. I have just noticed that he has been wobbly on his back legs, and that he holds his tail up in an arch and it seems to shiver when he walks.

I am extremely worried about him, I cant take him to the vet til tomorrow as they are closed today. Also he makes a crunching noise when eating soft food, I have looked into his mouth, and cant find anything. last time he did this I took him to the vet and he pulled out a lot of cat hair from his throat. I am worried about his rear end and tail. Any suggestions !!! I am very worried today.

Hi Sue
I can understand your worry today but there is nothing you can do but keep him comfortable and warm today and then take him as soon as you can tomorrow.

It is impossible to say what this could be. It could the first signs of arthritis

or he may have jumped and landed awkwardly. he may even be constipated. but the only way to know for sure is for a vet to examine him.

Try not to worry, you sound like a good cat owner to me and the fact that you are taking him to see a vet as soon as you can is more than sadly many other cat owners i come across.

best wishes kate
