Cats tail..

by Tanra

For the last few days now our cat keeps his tail down instead of up all the time, could it be broken? He dosen't mind if it is ouched ans he dosen't meow about it. What do you think?

Hi yes it could be causing him some pain and discomfort. A held down tail could indicate a bite wound as this recently happened to my cat. Sometimes it is not always easy to see and cats are very good at covering up their discomfort.

You could try to take a gentle look at it to see if he winces when you touch it. Also feel gently along his back to see if he displays any pain.

If you feel that there is something wrong then it is best to let a vet take a look. If it is a bite then he may need antibiotics or an anti inflammatory.

Hope he is back to his old self soon
