We usually gave our cats Irish names like Finnegan and MacGillicuddy but this kitten's purr was so loud & so constant, that we just had to name him Purr-cy.

Mr. Whiskers

cat names - Gobbelina

Gobbelina is my mum's kitten, and she was named after Gobbelino, the Witch's Cat, from the book of the same name. She is a tiny black thing, and the cat in the book was meant to be black, as all witch's cats are, but in the light it turned out he wasn't. Obviously the 'a' on the end is because she is a girl. It is a brilliant book, and I feel the name is full of character, just like our lovely little kitten. We call her Gobbie or Gobbo for short

Halfnhalf

There were 9 feral cats of varied ages roaming the neighbourhood. As my neighbours and I worked to capture them, we needed a way to identify them for our conversations about them (i.e. "Did you see Black Teenager today?" or "I haven't seen Big Papa in two days!"). Because they kept their distance from us people, they were all named by how they looked. There was Big Papa, Mamacat, Black Teenager, Black Kitten, Sylvester, Tiger, Gray Teenager, Gray Kitten, and Halfnhalf. When Halfnhalf is 'sitting-like-a-log'(toes curled up underneath her), she looks like an all gray cat, but then she stands up and her bottom half is white. We eventually caught all of the cats, and got most set up at the SPCA. A neighbour a few doors down kept Black Kitten, and I kept Halfnhalf. At her first visit to the vet, they asked her name, and I sheepishly said Halfnhalf as I realized that I could never change her name. The vet figured she was four months old at this time. She is still very shy with people, and for some reason, completely un-interested in the great outdoors now, but she is a lovely little cat with a funny name :)

Hi We adopted Mushmouth and Pumkinpuss in June. We wanted names that were famous like Bonnie and Clyde and Tom and Jerry. I remembered as a child a cartoon Mushmouse and Pumkinpuss...but I would call him Mushmouth...so that's how those two got theirs...now Tiki who I am getting today...is named after Tiki Barber of the NYGiants...my husnad is a huge fan LOL

Fluffninn - My Cats Name

my cat is fluffy so that is where we got the fluff from which is pretty explanatory. but the ninn came from an old cat the we had that died some years ago. his name was ninny and he was a beautiful ginger cat and as fluffninn was also a ginger cat and fluffy we combined the two names and Fluffninnn just suited him to a tee.

Thats terrible news, how could someone do that, so selfish.They obviously realized what a great cat he was and either wanted him for themselves or thought they could sell him for ood money. No wonder i prefer cats to some people.
