Did i do something wrong to my kittens?

I read a couple days ago online that if your kittens eyes aren't open after 14 days then you could take a cotton swab and warm water and apply it to where the crust is on the kittens eye's so it will help the kittens open there eye's because the crust can make it difficult for them to open sometimes. Well i have four kittens.. One of the kittens has one eye completely open and it has been that way for a couple days now.. The other eye is still closed.. All the other kittens eye's are completely closed.. They were born 16 days ago.. So i did the whole warm water thing and it has helped but now that the eyes are opening it just doesn't look right to me.. Because i cant see the eye. When they are trying to open all you can see is pink inside.. So im wondering if i did something wrong..?? Any advice or comment would be greatfully appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi no I don't think you did anything wrong at all. What you could be looking at is the third eyelid which normally folds back when the eye is open. When it does not it can be a sign of illness.

If I were you I would definitely take your kittens to a see a vet as soon as possible. They should see a vet anyway to make sure all is OK.

Don't worry, as long as you can get them seen by a vet you are doing all you can for your kittens.

best wishes Kate
