do cats dream or something else going on
my cat will be sound asleep and all of a sudden it is frightened by something; jumping out of it's skin nearly. do cats sense paranormal activity or just have nightmares?

Your guess is a as good as mine. I don't think there has been a study of this and so all we can do is assume that they dream like us and so can have nightmares too.
Don't forget cats have very sensitive hearing much better than our own, so she may hear something that we do not.
