Our cat bites when it wants something. Not hard enough usually to break the skin. ( back of the arm our our legs. WHY!! How do we break this bad habbit/

This is a learned behavor and perhaps in the past when he has done it he has fot what he wants. So now he thinks this is the right thing to do.

It may be quite difficult to break the habit now but it can be done with a lot of patience and time.

Every time he bites you must move quickly away from him without looking at him or making a sound ie don;t talk to him. Over time he will realise that when he bites he gets a negative response and will no longer bite when he wants something. of course you must do the oppositie if he asks for something without biting ie lots of fuss and praise etc.
You will have to be very strong and constant in your responses but over time this can work.
