Early morning wake up call

by Chris Lambert

Hello,

over the past few months, our 6 year old cat has developed the really annoying habit of waking up at 5am and running round our apartment (running into one room, back into another, back and forth) until we let her out. I know cats are most active at dawn and dusk but she has never done it before and doesnt seem to show any signs of stopping.

There is a litter tray available as our other cat doesnt go out so she can use that if she wishes, so wonder if anyone has any suggestions. We cant really shut her in a room as she would then scratch the door and not have access to the litter tray should she need it

Many thanks

Chris Lambert

Hi
well I'm sorry to say that there is no other solution to this problem apart from confining in one room at night with her litter tray.

My own cat is exactly the same but we have got used to getting up and letting her out. We're well trained :)

Best wishes Kate
