Eve and Ella My Two Cats

Eve My cat
Ella and her sister Eve, were rescued from the Humane society, where they had lived for 3 months! My sister told me I needed a cat after going through a divorce, changing jobs and cities, watching her husband pass away from cancer, and starting Grad school for my Masters.
On the way to the HAWS of Waukesha,we passed the Golden Guernsey dairy, with a 20 foot tall cow statue in front. I jokingly said "Can I get a cow (I live on a small farm)?" "If you want to feed and take care of it" she laughed.
When we walked in, there was a display area with two black and white kitties. They looked just like Holstein cows. "There's my cows!" I said. We looked at them, then went and looked at the kitties in the cage room. We had a few brought in, but I always had the sisters in the back of my mind.
We had "Princess" and "Elvis" brought in. They were aloof, but the connection was made, and I filled out the adoption papers.
I called the next day to see when I could pick them up, an was told it would be a few days, but I forced the issue due to my work schedule and went over to get them.
We get along well, they were both raised feral, and were at HAWS to have litters, so it has taken some time for us to become a family, but now, when I say "bedtime" and head for the stairs, Ella meets me and we go up to bed, while Eve enjoys the desk chair, or sleeps under the window seat where the heat enters the family room.
Each day we become more of a family, and I love "my girls". Eve is named for Eve from Wall-E, and Ella is from Ella Enchanted. They are a little cameral shy, but both have back patches on their sides that become hearts when they are sitting!
A Love that was meant to be!
