I bought Advantage for my cat 2 weeks ago. I got the wrong dose, he is over 9 pounds and I was wondering if it was too soon to buy the stronger dose and give it to him. Poor thing still has fleas and they are biting me too!

Great picture by the way.

Have you treated the house as well? If not then you will need to do this as well, as what could be happening is re-infestation of your cat from fleas living in the carpet and soft furnishings, this could also be why you are being bitten too.

I would not recommend re-dosing your cat so soon as this could make them ill. Also I do not know too much about advantage as I only use the flea treatments supplied by my vets. I would have thought it should have worked by now. Why not telephone your vets and see if they can advise you over the phone as to whether or not you can re-dose so soon.

Please see my page here on this site under cat care about fleas for some more advice.

Best wishes Kate
