Is wet food better than dry food. And how much are you suspose to give your cat a serving. Is it ok to give an adult cat milk.

First the Milk question. No any age cat should not be given normal cows milk. It contains lactose which cats are sensitive too and will give them upset stomachs. It is Ok to give a cat the special formumated cats milk that is available.

Regarding wet food verses dry food. I don't know if you have read my cat food pages here on this site but that gives a full explanation of the different sorts of food available and may be of some use to you. I would say that they both have their own merits and generally i think most people give cats a mixture of both. The dry cat food can help to keep their teeth free from tartar and so is good to have as part of the diet.

Always read the recommendation on the side of the food can etc regarding how much to feed as some food may be more calorific than others, dry food especially.

generally a cat will need only two or three meals a day but do not pile food up in the bowl or leave it there for long periods of time as the cats will either eat too much if you have a greedy cat or refuse to eat it once it has been sitting around for a while.
