Found my cat sitting at his water dish, lethargic

We came home last night to find our 10 year old male cat sitting at the water dish. I got him to lay in his bed and he was still there this morning. I gave him some laxative last night and this morning in case he has a hairball stuck. He later vomited up a clear fluid, didn't seem to have much odor. He has no interest in anything and doesn't fight it much when I give him the laxative, which he doesn't like.

hi well yes he may have a hairball but his symptoms could also be due to something else. he does sound rather lethargic and if it were me and he is no better in another day I would definitely consider taking him to the vets to be on the safe side.

hopefully it is nothing serious and will clear up soon, even cats are prone to winter viruses etc.

Just to let you know if your cat is prone to hairballs there are special preparations available which are helpful in shifting them. My own cat used to love the one I gave her as it tasted like yeast.
