help please! twitching/trembling after spaying

I got my four month old kitten spayed today. she seems completely fine and is able to walk and eat, she's just really tired. the only weird thing I've noticed is as she is sleeping she twitches and trembles. I don't think she is cold since her and I are curled up with a blanket. also i gave her the pain medication from the vet about 4 hours ago but she has been doing this for about 7 hours now please help, I'm so worried!

Answer from Kate
Hi
the female cat spay operation is more involved than a male neuter and may last longer. I'm wondering if she is still being affected by the anesthetic she had. Sometimes it can take a few days to completely leave the system.

I must admit i've never heard of a vet giving pain relief medicine after this operation before.

My advice is that if it is still happening and you are concerned, give your vets office a call and just ask for some advice. they may say that it is normal after anesthetic.

hope she is back to her old / young self soon

best wishes Kate
