Hello Cat Lovers
It has been awhile since I submitted an update on my feline household but we have been very busy.
As some of you may remember, 2009 and 2010 was very SAD years for us as we lost 7 of our felines.
(Salem, Callie, Snickers,Ozzy, Rocky, Lola and J.J)
It is still hard knowing they are gone but I find peace in knowing they are in a better place where they are not suffering with diseases like Cancer and Kidney Failure, which took them from us.
My remaining felines are doing well (for which I am grateful).
My Max is 14 years old and is FIV positive.
He is doing fairly well (eating ok and mostly healthy) with the exception of some recurring bouts with mouth inflammation (which is part of what is expected with FIV cats).
Max and his FIV status has prompted me to educate myself on FIV and to learn all I can and help to educate others on this disease.
So many people think it is a DEATH SENTENCE for cats but many cats live LONG and healthy lives with it.
I do all I can to educate people that these special needs cats CAN AND NEED to be adopted into forever homes.
We have had a small "Kitty COLD" outbreak this past month but have it about under control now.I have worked hard to keep the Sneezes and Sniffles under control to stop all the cats from getting it.
I am praying for a better year this year and hopefully NO LOSS.
My three oldest cats (Max, who is 14, Spot who is also 14 and Smokey who is 11) are doing remarkably well to be seniors.
I am grateful for each day that I am allowed with each of my cats.
I hope 2011 is a blessed year for all of you and your Cats and I look forward to reading your updates and posts on this site.
Kate does a wonderful job maintaining this site and I love spending time reading all the cat stories.
