How do I comfort my cat

My cat Floria has borned 4 kittens one and half months ago. She sticked with her 4 kittens everyday.

Due to the small apartment, i have to take those 4 kittens to the Shelter, they are small enough and cute to have people to adopt them. If they are older, i don't think there will be a chance to be adopted, so that, i made the cruel decision and took them to the shelter.

After it, Floria expressed very sadness and searched around for her kittens. She also "meow " to me more and loud every time she see me. I am not sure that if she is complaining to me or she is sadness.

Can you tell me how to comfort my Cat. I know it is cruel to her, but to save the kittens , it is the best way to take them away when they are still look a cute kitten.

Please tell me how to comfort my cat.

Firstly Coyo it is important that you have your cat spayed so that this does not happen again in the future.

Your cat is probably worried about the fact that she cannot find her kittens. Thank goodness you waited until they were at least 6 weeks old as this is a very important time for a kitten and they should be with their mother during those early weeks.

the only thing you can do for your cat is to try and distract her from thinking and looking for the kittens. Play games with her, chasing string and balls etc. you can also hide little cat treats around so that she can search them out.
basically you need to give her lots of tender lving care and attention, she will soon settle down again, but as i say it important that she does not get preganant again.
