How do I know if my cat has an ear infection.

My cat had been acting fine all day. All of the sudden, out of no where my cat does not want to be touched. I noticed that one of his ears is slightly laid back. When I try to pet him anywhere on him he doesn't let me. Also, he will only eat his treats but not his regular Iams food for today. Please help.

Yes his symptoms definitely suggest that your cat is in some pain or discomfort. If he has ear mites you may be able to look inside the ear and see them. This page will advise further on this
