Hurt cat how can i help him?

my cat sly got out yesterday,after missing all day he came back a mess.Fur all dirty, smelled like cat pee!

He is limping,it seems his front paw hurts him.
I look very close at it and i do see a small mark on it ,right before the bend of his leg. No blood,and he let me move his paw,no crying.

He is eating and drinking,using his box,but he has limped everywhere all day.could it be broke?

well it could be several things. It be a bite from another cat or a bruise or scrape from a jump. Or it could be a fracture.

Unfortunately without examining it, it is difficult to say exactly what it is.

if he is able to walk and is eating ok, hopefully it is is just a bite or scape. Try to clean it up as best you can and keep a close eye on it. Any signs of redness or swelling will mean a infection has set in and your cat will need antibiotics from your vet. Cat bits can be rather nasty as they have lots of bacteria in their mouths which can cause infections.

If I were you I would take him to the vets anyway just to nip anything in the bud before anything can develop. it will also rule out any fracture etc also.
