Hi
I assume from your question that your cat is hiding away from you as he is new to your home. I hope I have understood your question correctly.

Yes some cats do take longer to settle in and they need time to build up their confidence. I have a web page on my site about bonding with a new cat which is designed to help the cat feel safe and happy around you.

Be patient and let him find his own confidence. The more you try to force him to do something the more he will become afraid of you.

best wishes kate

Hey Kate,

Yes you did answer my question..thanks for answering :) This is my first time having a two year old pet but I have cats all my life but never on on my own before it's new...I been giving him treats @ least he's eating and drinking and going to litter @ first I got worried since I got him he wasn't eating or drinking or littering..but now he has..I would never force a cat to come out of hiding..I been doing fake yawns blink my eyes a few times..he has his fleas needles before I got him so..I will keep this site for the future..and I am hoping to buy books about Cats
