I'm pregnant and kitten has a problem not useing litter box.

my kitten loves to be by me all the time and i love her oh so very much but since i moved to my new place she doesn't feel the need to use the litter box and she also has very shiny eyes . I don't want this to turn into something that could hurt my kitten and more importantly my unborn child . Shes looks very tired and I'm very afraid because i looked up information about toxoplasmosis and it could really affect me and especially being pregnant my baby could have abnormallities.. Should i get rid of my kitten to a better place for the time being intill she gets her shots and checked out?

Hi
firstly don't worry about catching anything from your cat. the only way you could possibly get toxoplasmosis is if you handled infected cat poo. I'm sure you don't and that you wear gloves when cleaning the litter tray. This really is a silly panic rumour that has become something to frighten expecting mother to be with.

no simply use sensible hygiene just like you will with your own baby.

As for your kittens health, well the only way to know for sure what could be causing your kitten to be ill is a trip to the vets. It could be any number of things and impossible to guess at. It could be something simple or something more serious for the kitten, if they have been like this for more than a few days then you really should be thinking of taking them to a vet soon.

best wishes and don't worry too much :)

best wishes kate
